Synthetic graphite was discovered accidentally in the late 1800s. This high purity, highly crystalline material is used in a variety of applications including friction, foundry, electrical carbons, fuel cell bi-polar plates, coatings, electrolytic processes, corrosion products, conductive fillers, rubbers and plastic compounds, and drilling applications.
